Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) telemetry position requiring KS/MO or compact licensure and 2 years of recent specialty experience.
Details
- Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, Neuro Stepdown, and Telemetry unit setting
- Cares for a cardiovascular and gastrointestinal patient population, including pre/post cardiac cath care
- Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- 13-week assignment length
- Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
Requirements
- Active Kansas and Missouri RN license or Compact license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS, NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including a full year within the past 12 months with no employment gaps greater than 90 days
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy required; port access/management, blood product administration, central line care, feeding tube care, and sheath removal preferred
- Charge RN experience preferred
- 2 professional references required, one from a supervisor level or above and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response on the unit
- Completes EPIC training module or test-out option, along with infusion pump and glucometer training prior to start
- Must complete 10-15 hours of compliance modules prior to start, with additional modules completed during orientation
- Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, which must be finalized at time of consideration with no additional requests after offer or onsite
- Previous BJC or Saint Luke's employees must have a 3-month break in service after 18 months of tenure, or wait 1 year if returning as a traveler after permanent employment
- Does not accept local candidates within a 75-mile radius
- Travel partners are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
