Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Telemetry unit position in Illinois, requiring at least 1 year of experience, EKG competency, and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Hospital telemetry unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Patient population includes those requiring cardiac monitoring and acute care management, including chronic ventilator patients
• EKG monitoring equipment used; competency in rhythm strip interpretation required
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Demonstrated competency in cardiac rhythm strip interpretation required; candidates must pass an EKG strip test at orientation
• Chronic ventilator patient experience required
• Experience initiating and maintaining cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem) preferred

Additional Information

• Assess and respond to acute changes in patient condition in a fast-paced environment
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
