Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Telemetry unit position in Illinois, requiring at least 1 year of experience, EKG competency, and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Hospital telemetry unit setting
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Patient population includes those requiring cardiac monitoring and acute care management, including chronic ventilator patients
- EKG monitoring equipment used; competency in rhythm strip interpretation required
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac rhythm strip interpretation required; candidates must pass an EKG strip test at orientation
- Chronic ventilator patient experience required
- Experience initiating and maintaining cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem) preferred
Additional Information
- Assess and respond to acute changes in patient condition in a fast-paced environment
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract
- All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
