Description
American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of home health experience for a travel contract covering Alameda County and potentially surrounding areas.
Details
- Home health setting serving geriatric patients in Alameda County, with potential coverage of surrounding counties to be discussed at interview
- Cases include general home health, wound care, and geriatric home health patients
- Minimum of 23–24 patient visits per week
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00–17:00), Monday–Friday with no weekend requirement
- On-call is not required; any on-call would be discretionary
- Charting completed using Kinnser/WellSky; all charting must be done on-site and cannot be taken home
- Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate from first patient to last patient (home-to-work commute excluded)
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of home health experience and 2 years of overall clinical experience as a PT required
- Current state PT license in hand required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- No pending licenses accepted
Additional Information
- Contract length is 4–6 months; clinicians with less experience are required to commit to a 6-month contract, which is non-negotiable
- Hiring process includes a phone interview conducted by the hiring team
- A tablet is provided by the facility for on-site charting
- Any color scrubs and closed-toe shoes required
- COVID vaccination is required; religious declinations are accepted. Flu vaccination declination is permitted with a signed declination form
- Compliance documentation must be completed before patient care can begin, which may take 2–3 weeks
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; no additional RTO will be accepted after an offer is made
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility are accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Free residential parking is available
- Qualities most valued include being patient-care forward, punctual, a self-starter, and efficient with charting completion
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required, along with a full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
