Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI, with 2+ years of acute or surgical experience and strong procedural skills including fluoro and OR cases.
Details
- Work in a large 636-bed Magnet-designated Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI
- Radiology department includes 5 diagnostic rooms, 2 fluoro rooms, 1 video swallow room, 2 clinic diagnostic rooms, 3 pain clinic rooms, and 1 dental room
- Patient population spans inpatient, outpatient, ED, and procedural cases across all age ranges, including some pediatrics
- Average caseload of 15–20 patients per tech per day
- Procedures include ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, urology cases, and OR cases such as ortho, general, and spine
- Equipment includes GE, Fuji, and Del Medical X-ray systems, GE 9900 and Elite C-arms, Medtronic O-arms, and McKesson PACS
- EMR is Epic
- 5x8-hour evening shifts per week with start times ranging between 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM
- Schedule follows a Monday–Friday pattern with every other weekend rotation
- One call shift per week; call windows are 6:30 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, or 10:30 PM–6:30 AM
- No floating to other units
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of acute or surgical Radiology experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Proficiency in surgical/procedure imaging, general radiology, and portable X-rays
- Fluoro experience required, including ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases
- OR imaging experience required, including ortho, general, and spine; comfort with O-arm preferred
- Mid-to-high level acute care hospital experience required
- Active ARRT certification required
- Active WI state license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year
- Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
- Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration
Additional Information
- Radiologist on site 24/7, with additional support from RT, hospitalist, and intensivist around the clock
- Lead tech present on first shift; department staffed with 14 techs on days, 7 on second shift, and 3 on third shift
- Orientation includes facility NEO followed by 7 days of department-specific training
- One holiday shift expected per 13-week contract
- RTO requests are handled through the facility manager
- Surgery scrubs are provided on-site
- Free parking is available
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on skill level; highly competent surgery and procedure experience is expected
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply
- Fast-paced environment with high patient acuity
