Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week home health assignment in Wood County, WV, providing in-home patient care Monday through Friday.

Details

• Home health setting; all patients are seen in their homes within Wood County, WV
• Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm; no weekend or holiday requirements
• Approximately 5 patients treated per day
• Patient population includes general orthopedic (hips, knees), generalized weakness, strengthening, and cardiac rehab
• Epic EMR used; positive attitude toward learning the system is expected
• Works alongside 2 PTAs on the team
• 8-hour shifts; day shift only

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
• Active PT license required; WV state licensure or eligibility required — license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Any additional PT certifications required for practicing in the state of WV
• Home health or relevant clinical experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required; copy must be provided for consideration
• Comfortable traveling between patient homes within the assigned county

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include in-home evaluation and treatment of patients across general orthopedic and wellness diagnoses
• Orientation includes Epic training and shadowing with another PT on staff
• Uniform requirement: navy top, tan bottom
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a minimum 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers may not work within the WVU Medicine system for longer than one cumulative year before a 2-year break is required
• 2 references required: 1 supervisor reference and 1 peer or additional supervisor reference; if the candidate worked at a permanent facility within the last 12 months, one supervisor reference must be from that facility
• Skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration
