Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a newer acute care facility in Nebraska, requiring a minimum of 2 years of hospital Med/Surg experience and night shift availability.
Details
- 32-bed acute care facility where Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU patients are all housed in the same unit area
- Med/Surg patient population including total joint replacement and abdominal surgical procedure cases
- Wound VACs are utilized on the unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 for Med/Surg and 1:4 for PCU
- 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM–7:15 AM or 6:45 AM–7:15 PM rotation)
- Schedule is 4x12-hour shifts per week
- Floating to PCU may be required for qualified and comfortable candidates
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NE RN license or a Compact RN license recognized in Nebraska
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum 2 years of hospital Med/Surg experience required
- Experience with total joint replacements required
- Experience with abdominal surgical procedures required
- 2 references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Orientation consists of a 4-hour general traveler orientation, an afternoon shadowing a floor nurse, followed by 1 shift with floor staff before working independently
- This is a newer facility, having opened within the last 2 years
- Scrub color required: Pewter Grey or Light Turquoise
