Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Step-Down/Med-Surg Overflow position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

• Step-Down/Med-Surg Overflow unit within a large, short-term acute care Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Cardiovascular experience is a focus of this unit
• Team nursing model with a 1:12 patient ratio
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available; schedule may be discussed during interview
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license — Tennessee (TN) or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Active Driver's License required for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Cardiovascular (CV) nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel nursing assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
• ADN or higher nursing degree required for this position

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — RTO cannot be approved after an offer has been made
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Block scheduling is not available; weekend block schedules may be considered
