Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center
- Medical/Surgical unit
- Team nursing ratios (details to be discussed with manager during interview)
- Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- On-call required as needed
- Weekends required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
- Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required (3+ years preferred)
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- ADN or higher required for this position
- Driver's License required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — RTO requests made after an offer is extended will not be approved and must be arranged directly with the manager or scheduler
- If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked
- Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
