Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical/Surgical Ortho position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment completion.

Details

• Medical/Surgical Ortho unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Team nursing ratios in effect — candidates are encouraged to discuss specifics with the manager during the interview
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though cross-campus floating will be rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
• ADN degree minimum required for this position
• Ortho nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — RTO requests submitted after an offer is made will not be approved and must be coordinated directly with the manager
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
