Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of ER travel experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center setting
- Emergency Department (ER) unit
- Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00); shift times may be adjusted based on permanent staff scheduling
- On-call required as needed
- Weekend work required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
- Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
- 13-week contract
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Large hospital experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or NLC compact license required; no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2+ years of recent ER experience required (strictly enforced); 3+ years preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of completed travel experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not accepted (exception: candidates with 3+ years of recent ER experience may be considered)
- ADN education required (BSN not required for this position)
- Willingness to work 48-hour weeks required
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Vaccination status documentation required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO will not be approved if not listed at the time of initial consideration
- Holiday coverage: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
- Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not accepted unless the candidate has 3+ years of recent ER experience
