Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in California, requiring 3+ years of nursing experience and specialization across general, ortho, vascular, trauma, and neuro surgical cases.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting
- Surgical specialties include general, orthopedic, vascular, trauma, and neuro cases
- Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- On-call required on an as-needed basis
- Every other weekend required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Ability to scrub and circulate surgical cases
- Must be able to work with bodily fluids and substances, make fine sound discrimination, and handle emergency or crisis situations
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
- This position is classified OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk)
Additional Information
- Plans, manages, and coordinates professional nursing care for surgical patients in both scrub and circulating roles
- Directs and supervises ancillary nursing personnel and collaborates with the full health care team
- Maintains AORN standards of professional nursing practice
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
- Former employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the assignment
