Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 48-bed adult 6th floor unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• 48-bed adult medical/surgical unit on the 6th floor of a hospital setting
• Day shift, 7:00am – 7:00pm, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week (48-hour contract option also available)
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6 with approximately 3–4 admissions per day
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• May be placed on standby (SB) 1 shift per pay period if census drops
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license valid in NC
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Current CPI certification (CPI-A) required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and update patient care plans
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by patient care plans
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs for individual patients and families
