Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ICU position in Ontario, OH, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience and the ability to float across multiple campuses.

Details

• Acute care hospital ICU setting
• Patient population includes critically ill adults requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 3:1
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required to sister ICU campuses (Bucyrus and Galion) as needed based on census
• On-call shifts may be assigned; must be able to return to the facility within 1 hour when called in
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent, consecutive ICU experience in a hospital or acute care setting required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Medication scanning knowledge required
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ventilator management skills including BiPAP/CPAP, care of ventilated patients, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Two recent supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed during the contract; holiday time off is not permitted
• All missed shifts must be made up; if scheduled during an approved RTO weekend, the traveler is responsible for finding shift coverage
• Former permanent employees of this health system must wait at least 6 months before being considered for a position
• Candidates with prior terminations, contract cancellations, or significant red flags in employment history will not be considered
• Up to 8 hours of non-paid pre-start modules are required, completed via HealthStream
