Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Neuro unit position requiring BLS and NIHSS certifications, with experience caring for CVA/TIA and stroke patients.
Details
- Medical Surgical Neuro unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes CVA/TIA, seizures, encephalopathy, weakness, and rule-out stroke cases
- Patient ratio of 1:6-7
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month required
- Floating is required
- EMR: Cerner | Medication System: Omnicell
Requirements
- Active RN license — Tennessee (TN) or Compact license required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Preferred certification: ACLS (AHA)
- Must be able to pass an EKG competency test prior to start date
- Prior Med/Surg Neuro experience required
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to a busy neurological patient population on a Medical Surgical unit
- RTO will not be accommodated during the following holidays or holiday periods: Valentine's Day, Local Spring Break, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Local Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
- Travelers may discuss holiday RTO directly with the manager after arriving onsite
- Orientation is bi-weekly
- Local candidates are accepted
