Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Observation Unit position in Oklahoma City, requiring an active OK or compact RN license and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

• Work in the ER Observation Unit of an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Travel experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in nursing theory, clinical practices, and patient care techniques
• Ability to initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, documentation of responses to nursing interventions, medication administration, and IV/blood product management
• Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before being eligible for a new contract after the 26-week maximum
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
