Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active WV or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Unit is currently expanding
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 (ratios may fluctuate with census)
• Meditech EMR experience utilized on this unit
• Night shift, 7p–7:30a, on a rotating 36/48 schedule (alternating weeks of 3x12 and 4x12 hours)
• Every other weekend required
• Float required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Driver's license with permanent address must be provided for consideration
• Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher, and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year
• Middle name required; confirmation needed if no middle name exists

Additional Information

• Must be willing and able to work the rotating 36/48 schedule — travelers unable to accept this schedule may be subject to cancellation
• Orientation is held on a bi-weekly basis
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be submitted upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
• Must be available to work at least one major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Travelers who have worked within this health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
• Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; pairs will not be placed on the same shift or unit
• Any license or background check issues must be disclosed upfront
