Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit specializing in post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, with stepdown/PCU experience required.
Details
- Hospital-based Surgical/Transplant unit (4W) providing care for post-surgical and pre-evaluation transplant patients
- Patient population includes post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
- Mixed Med/Surg and stepdown floor — nurses may be assigned to either MS or SD patients depending on staffing and acuity
- Close monitoring required for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
- Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (OK state or eNLC compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only
- Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- OR (operating room) candidates will not be accepted
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Full DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Transplant experience (kidney, liver, pancreas) preferred
- ENT experience preferred
- Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
- BSN from a board-approved program preferred
- If ICU nurses float to the unit, they will be assigned stepdown patients based on acuity and skill set
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 cumulative weeks before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance
