Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a hospital in Bozeman, MT.
Details
- Night shift schedule with varying weekend shifts
- On-call requirement of 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Provides respiratory care across a multi-generational patient population including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities
- Responsibilities include mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, nebulized medication administration, and arterial blood gas sampling
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active Montana RRT license required if applicable
- Current RRT certification through the NBRC
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required within 3 months of start
- Preferred: NBRC Neonatal-Pediatric Specialist (NPS) and/or Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks including prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and pushing/pulling
- Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Administer a broad range of respiratory therapy treatments and serve as a training resource and subject matter expert within the respiratory department
- Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators and associated critical care equipment; perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver patient-centered care
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EMR)
- Develop and deliver patient and family education based on identified learning needs
- Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities relevant to the department
- Candidates will be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, radiation, and emotionally challenging situations inherent to the healthcare environment
