Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU (NICU) travel position in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 3 years of Level III or higher NICU experience and ventilator training.
Details
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in a large regional medical center — the region's only Level II Trauma Center and home to the region's only children's hospital
- 3x12-hour night shifts per week
- 13-week contract
- Floating to other units may be required up to the nurse's competency level
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some on-call shifts; call requirements to be discussed during interview
- Epic used for charting; training available during orientation or candidates may test out
- Kronos used for timekeeping
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required; candidates who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer
- Current AHA certifications: BLS and NRP
- Minimum 3 years of exclusive NICU experience in a Level III NICU or higher
- Ventilator training and experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provides individualized, comprehensive nursing care to neonatal patients across the full episode of care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members and incorporates family/caregivers into the care process
- A minimum of 2 major holidays will be required during the contract
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their contract ends before returning
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration; time off is not added to the end of the contract to compensate for RTO
- SSN required for consideration
