Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Case Management/Utilization Review position requiring a MA RN license, BLS-AHA certification, and 3–5 years of relevant experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Case Management unit
- 8-hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Rotating weekend requirement
- 40 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- No floating required
- No charge nurse duties required
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- 3–5 years of experience in a case management setting required
- Certifications preferred: ACM, CCM, or CMAC
- Previous travel experience is not required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
- COVID vaccine and booster required (medical exemptions accepted)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted)
- MA RN license and required certifications must be provided for consideration
Additional Information
- Reviews admission data to establish appropriate level of care using InterQual criteria
- Integrates clinical and billing knowledge to review, evaluate, and appeal clinical denials for hospitalized patients
- Conducts concurrent reviews to determine continued need for acute care, appropriateness and timeliness of treatments/procedures, and to optimize reimbursement potential
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to assess and improve denial management, documentation, and appeals processes
- Partners with UR Manager and/or physician advisor on cases that do not meet established guidelines for admission or continued stay
- Acts as liaison between physicians and payers, coordinating peer-to-peer phone calls
- Collects and compiles data as required
- Pass/fail testing required: Telemetry/ECG and Medication Test
- Candidates who have worked for Beth Israel Lahey Health (travel, permanent, or per diem) must have a minimum one-year break from any BILH facility before being considered
- All time-off requests must be presented at the time of submission
- Interviews conducted by the hiring manager
