Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position at a top-ranked children's hospital in San Diego, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent CVPICU experience and active CA RN licensure.
Details
- 13-week travel contract in the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (CVPICU) of a large, nationally ranked children's hospital in San Diego, CA
- 30-bed unit serving a pediatric cardiac patient population, including heart transplant cases
- Variable shift schedule with both day (7:00–19:00) and night (19:00–7:00) options available, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend requirements: 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; night shift requires any combination of Fri/Sat nights, day shift requires Sat/Sun
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Free parking available for travelers
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required; pending license considered if an ETA from the licensing board is available
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent, consecutive CVPICU experience required
- Pediatric cardiac experience is required — candidates must be cardiac trained
- Heart transplant experience required
- Proficiency with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation required
- Willingness and ability to float between units within scope of practice

- Maximum of 6 days of requested time off (RTO) for the duration of the contract
- Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
