Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS, and every-other-weekend availability.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5
• Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, post-amputation care, small bowel obstruction, AFib/dysrhythmias, cancer, and palliative care
• Specialized procedures include EKGs and administration of drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and Lasix (within parameters, non-titratable)
• Equipment includes telemetry monitoring, monitor techs, IV pumps, O2, pulse oximetry, VS machines, SCDs, bed/chair alarms, chest tubes, and Foley catheters
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity areas as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling and special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
