Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and active NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 52-bed Emergency Department with an additional 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit (BHU), providing 24/7 emergency care to all age groups
- High-volume department averaging 196 admissions per day
- Patient ratio of 5 patients per 2 nurses
- Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- On-call required as needed, up to 1 shift per pay period
- 4 weekend shifts required within each 6-week period
- Holiday coverage required as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, and CPI-B
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
- Strong skills in interdisciplinary collaboration, task prioritization, patient assessment, and discharge planning
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Delivers competent clinical nursing care across all patient acuity levels using the nursing process, including complex physical, psychosocial, and safety needs
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate patient care, update care plans, and ensure continuity of care
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing and applies healthcare organization standards and policies in all care delivery
- Assesses and anticipates discharge needs for patients and families, including those with complex or high-risk situations
- Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
- Candidates should be adaptable, collaborative, and detail-oriented; opportunities for leadership, specialty training, and education roles exist within the department
- Background check and drug screen results are required prior to start; candidates should be prepared for a turnaround time of at least 2 weeks for results
