Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2 years of acute care and travel experience, with willingness to float across 8 different units.

Details

• Float Pool position requiring rotation across 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital (Davenport 5, Davenport 7, Davenport 8, Davenport 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow)
• Patient population includes ED border patients, medication nurse duties in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
• Patient ratios are up to 5:1 on days and evenings, and up to 6:1 on nights
• Hospital has 371 beds; individual units range from 8 to 41 beds
• Schedule is days/evenings rotating with 1 to 3 night rotations per contract, every other weekend required
• 36 hours per week on a 13-week contract
• Charting is done in Epic
• Free on-site parking is available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Current AHA BLS certification required (AHA only — no other providers accepted)
• Current AHA ACLS certification required (AHA only — no other providers accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location required
• Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry skills required, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• Experience with TR Band required
• Ability to manage cardiac drips and read telemetry strips required
• 2 references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, administering cardiac drips, and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
• Timekeeping is managed through UKG/Kronos
• Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local and will receive a reduced rate
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
• 2 years of telemetry experience is preferred
