Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of acute care and travel RN experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units within a 371-bed hospital
• Units include Davenport 5, 7, 8, and 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow, ranging from 8 to 41 beds each
• Patient population includes ED border patients, acute mental health medication administration, and non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients
• Clinician to patient ratios up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
• Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week contract
• Rotation to days/evenings required, with 1 to 3 night rotations per contract
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required, no conditional or pending licenses accepted
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Traveler required
• Telemetry monitoring experience including interpreting strips every 4 hours required
• TR Band experience required
• Must be able to perform cardiac drips and read telemetry strips
• Must be willing to float across all 8 designated units
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, administering cardiac drips, and reading telemetry strips
• Free on-site parking is available
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the hospital in Boston and will receive a reduced rate compared to travel rate
• First-time travelers are not eligible given the required 2 years of prior travel RN experience
