Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of licensed acute inpatient or rehab experience for a 13-week inpatient rehab assignment at a Level III trauma hospital using Epic EMR.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation and acute inpatient setting at a Level III trauma hospital
- OT travelers are primarily based in acute inpatient or rehab but are expected to cross-cover between both areas, with potential ICU coverage depending on experience and need
- Patient caseload of approximately 10–12 patients per day
- Common diagnoses include orthopedic/total joints, neurological conditions (strokes, occasional brain injuries), medical cases, and general ICU
- 8-hour day shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- 4x10 schedule with rotating weekend requirements and holiday coverage as needed
- Epic EMR is used in this position
- No self-scheduling; no blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
- Travelers should plan for M–F 8-hour shifts during the initial onboarding/orientation period
Requirements
- Active OT license required (license required if applicable); pending licensure will not be accepted
- Minimum 1 year of licensed experience in acute inpatient or rehab setting
- Current BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates with less than 1 year of acute care experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis if deemed capable
- Department is supported by rehab aides (no COTAs on staff)
- A manager is present on each shift
- Orientation typically consists of 2–3 days of department-specific training
- Scrubs are permitted; colors must not match those of other departments — specific color restrictions are provided upon hire
- Former permanent employees of this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- No RTO or blocked scheduling requests will be accepted for this assignment
