Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active telemetry competency.

Details

• 13-week contract at a 286-bed acute care hospital
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45a–7:15p)
• Patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
• Charting performed in Epic
• Free parking on-site
• Royal Blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license in hand prior to start
• Current AHA certifications: BLS (required) and ACLS (required); NIH Stroke Scale (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry competency required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Level III Trauma Center
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on facility needs
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed before the assignment begins
• First-time travelers are accepted depending on position fit
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
