Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a CA RN license, Epic experience, and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.
Details
- Work in a Labor & Delivery unit at a 266-bed acute care hospital
- Unit includes 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
- Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
- Fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring performed on unit
- Float to postpartum (couplet care - newborn and maternal) when census requires
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Scrubs provided for L&D staff
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA-issued)
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM certification required
- NRP and FHM certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Ability to float between like units (postpartum) as needed
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a local pay rate
- All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application — RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied
- Block scheduling requests are considered at the manager's discretion
- Newborn role experience in the delivery room is a plus; ability to perform couplet care is highly valued
- Hospital is located beachside in California
- Parking is available on-site for a fee
