Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a CA RN license, Epic experience, and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Work in a Labor & Delivery unit at a 266-bed acute care hospital
• Unit includes 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
• Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
• Fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring performed on unit
• Float to postpartum (couplet care - newborn and maternal) when census requires
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Scrubs provided for L&D staff

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA-issued)
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM certification required
• NRP and FHM certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to float between like units (postpartum) as needed
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a local pay rate
• All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application — RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied
• Block scheduling requests are considered at the manager's discretion
• Newborn role experience in the delivery room is a plus; ability to perform couplet care is highly valued
• Hospital is located beachside in California
• Parking is available on-site for a fee
