Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular Sonographer / Echo Tech for a 13-week contract in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring ARDMS certification and experience performing adult and pediatric echocardiograms.

Details

• Hospital-based cardiology department providing direct patient care
• Performs cardiac ultrasound services for all age-specific patient populations, including adult and pediatric
• Procedures include adult transthoracic echocardiograms, pediatric echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), treadmill and dobutamine stress echocardiograms, and contrast echocardiography
• 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• After-hours on-call required, with weekend on-call rotation; occasional weekend shifts may be needed for department coverage
• Must be within 1 hour of the facility when on-call
• 40 hours per week

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography/cardiovascular sonography experience
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program required
• Current BLS and ARDMS certification required
• License required if applicable
• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs and stores echocardiographic images on an image archival system
• Assists cardiologists with TEE procedures, including patient preparation, recording tomographic views, and adjusting instrumentation
• Performs stress echocardiograms in collaboration with the cardiologist and stress testing nurse, capturing baseline, pre-, and post-stress images
• Administers echocardiogram contrast agents when suboptimal images are present
• Responsible for determining the need for contrast enhancement and general quality assessment of imaging
• Completes clerical functions including study review, chart preparation for dictation, and procedure status updates
