Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a travel contract in a chemotherapy outpatient setting, requiring an active chemo certification and NM or compact RN license.

Details

Outpatient oncology setting within a cancer center's chemotherapy department
Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
No weekend requirement
No on-call requirement
13-week contract

Requirements

Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Active chemotherapy (chemo) certification required
Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience
US Social Security Number required for consideration
Two professional references required for consideration
Copies of all active certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Administers medications and chemotherapy treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on care plans and identifies appropriate resources
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
BSN is preferred but not required
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
