Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a travel contract in a chemotherapy outpatient setting, requiring an active chemo certification and NM or compact RN license.

Details

  • Outpatient oncology setting within a cancer center's chemotherapy department
  • Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
  • No weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirement
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Active chemotherapy (chemo) certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience
  • US Social Security Number required for consideration
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copies of all active certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administers medications and chemotherapy treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
  • Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on care plans and identifies appropriate resources
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
  • BSN is preferred but not required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
