Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with ASHA certification, SC licensure, and at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week acute care pediatric hospital assignment.
Details
- Inpatient acute care and/or outpatient clinic setting within a children's hospital
- 4x10-hour shifts, typically 7:30am–5:30pm; shorter 5-day schedule may also be considered
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Floating within scope of practice may be required depending on candidate experience and facility need
- Charting is done in Epic
- Free parking available offsite with shuttle service provided to the facility
Requirements
- Current ASHA certification required
- Active South Carolina SLP license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the agency prior to start
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- License required if applicable
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
Additional Information
- Light gray scrubs are required
- Unit orientation takes place on-site at the work location
- Online modules must be completed prior to the start of the assignment
- Candidates who live within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Candidates who were previously employed (permanent or PRN) at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- RTO of 7 days or fewer (excluding holidays) may be approved without facility review; requests exceeding 7 days or including holidays require facility approval and may delay the process
- AHA-issued certifications are required (non-AHA equivalents are not accepted)
