Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week day shift contract at an acute care community hospital in New Hampshire.
Details
- Work in an acute care community hospital with approximately 300 beds, supporting ER, adult med/surg, adult critical care, and pediatric units
- RT-driven protocol environment covering a broad range of adult and pediatric cases
- Patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics; neonatal experience preferred
- Responsibilities include nebulizer treatments, CPT, high-flow oxygen, NIV, cough assist, IPV, continuous albuterol, mechanical ventilation, and in-house transport of mechanically ventilated patients
- Assists with intubations and bronchoscopies
- Pediatric ER and inpatient pediatrics coverage requires demonstrated competency; not utilized in Level 3 NICU
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Preferred ventilator equipment experience: Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, LTV 1200/HT70
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:15 AM – 6:45 PM)
- 36-hour workweek
- Every other weekend required; no on-call
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local pay rate
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy
- NH state license required if applicable; NH license pending submissions accepted
- BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only)
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
- CRTT preferred
- Experience in trauma, community hospital, ER, and adult ICU settings required
- Level I trauma, teaching hospital, PICU, and acute care pediatric experience preferred
- Required clinical skills: airway management, medication administration, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Bronchoscopy experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Professional references required; candidates may be considered with one reference on file and a second pending
