Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Oncology unit position requiring chemo certification and a MA RN license, with first-time travelers welcome.

Details

Hospital-based oncology unit with 12 beds and an average daily census of 32 patients
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses spanning hematology and oncology as well as non-oncology conditions such as asthma/allergy, GI, rheumatology, and MS
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
Specialized procedures include port accessing and IV placement
Medication management system: Omnicell
Documentation systems: Cerner and IntelliDose
Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, with start times of either 8:00–16:30 or 9:00–17:30
13-week contract

Requirements

Active MA RN license required
Current BLS certification required
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Certificate required
OCN certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Oncology nursing experience required
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Additional Information

Orientation consists of 3–4 shifts with a preceptor
Scrubs are not provided; any color is acceptable
All scheduling and time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
