Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an outpatient Oncology Case Manager role requiring a valid CA RN license, at least 2 years of oncology experience, and Cerner charting experience.
Details
- Outpatient clinic setting within a comprehensive cancer center's Adult Stem Cell Transplant Program
- Patient population includes diagnoses such as leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and stem cell transplant
- Case management responsibilities within a clinic environment
- Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Uses Epic for patient messaging and pool management
- Cerner charting experience required
- No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of oncology experience required, with outpatient oncology experience preferred
- BMT (bone marrow transplant) experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Preferred certifications: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy, OCN, and BMTCN
- Cerner EMR experience required
- At least one supervisory/manager reference from the past year required for consideration
- A second professional reference from within the past 2 years (charge nurse, co-worker, or educator) also required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include care coordination with the authorization department, scheduling appointments across multiple departments, managing new patient referrals, and responding to patient messages via MyChart and Epic pools
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- No RTO permitted within the first 2 weeks of the assignment; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront and cannot be changed after submission
- Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler, and prior employment must be disclosed at time of consideration
- A pass/fail EKG exam is required (up to 3 attempts allowed)
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
