Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an outpatient Oncology Case Manager role requiring a valid CA RN license, at least 2 years of oncology experience, and Cerner charting experience.

Details

  • Outpatient clinic setting within a comprehensive cancer center's Adult Stem Cell Transplant Program
  • Patient population includes diagnoses such as leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and stem cell transplant
  • Case management responsibilities within a clinic environment
  • Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Uses Epic for patient messaging and pool management
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of oncology experience required, with outpatient oncology experience preferred
  • BMT (bone marrow transplant) experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Preferred certifications: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy, OCN, and BMTCN
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • At least one supervisory/manager reference from the past year required for consideration
  • A second professional reference from within the past 2 years (charge nurse, co-worker, or educator) also required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include care coordination with the authorization department, scheduling appointments across multiple departments, managing new patient referrals, and responding to patient messages via MyChart and Epic pools
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • No RTO permitted within the first 2 weeks of the assignment; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront and cannot be changed after submission
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler, and prior employment must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • A pass/fail EKG exam is required (up to 3 attempts allowed)
  • A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
