Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring Epic proficiency and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Telemetry unit with 16 beds and an average daily census of 16
- Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with conditions such as post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
- Peritoneal dialysis experience is utilized in this role
- Procedures and monitoring include telemetry, EKG, and Doppler
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Navy blue scrubs required
- RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- RTO blackout period: Spring Break (April 4–12)
- Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off for review
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
- No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm
- Travelers who have previously worked at any facility within this health system must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
- Full compliance must be completed on time; late compliance results in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Candidates undergo a clinical screening review prior to manager consideration
