Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Correctional Med/Surg position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Correctional facility setting
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• Charting via Cerner
• This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, potentially to a variety of units including outside their primary area of competency
• Floating may be required up to 50 miles from the primary facility, with as little as 2 hours' notice before a shift
• Free parking available on a first come, first serve basis

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Correctional nursing experience preferred
• Cerner experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• When floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model will be utilized
• Proof of COVID vaccination is required — no exceptions (booster not required)
• RTO is capped at 5 days maximum for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
• No RTO will be approved on weekends
• No RTO on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling accommodations will be approved
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates within a 75-mile radius of the facility are accepted
