Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist proficient in both mammography and DEXA scanning for a 13-week travel assignment in an outpatient imaging setting.

Details

• Outpatient mammography unit with a Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D Mammography System and Hologic Horizon DXA System
• Proficiency in both mammography and DEXA scanning is required, including routine and diagnostic breast imaging
• Routine breast imaging is scheduled every 30 minutes, diagnostic breast imaging every 40 minutes, and DEXA scans every 20 minutes
• Works alongside 1 scheduler and 1 other technologist
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience required
• Proficiency in both diagnostic and routine breast imaging, as well as bone densitometry (DEXA)
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• Current applicable state license required if applicable
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include positioning patients for mammographic studies, adjusting compression mechanisms, minimizing radiation exposure, and forwarding completed studies to the radiologist for interpretation
• Also responsible for performing bone densitometry scans under physician supervision
• Duties include equipment maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining mammography supplies and patient records
