Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care/SNF night shift position at a nursing home attached to a hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience with elderly populations.
Details
- Work setting is a 70-bed nursing home (majority private rooms) attached to a hospital, classified as a post-acute/LTC/SNF care setting
- Patient population includes elderly residents with dementia, frailty, and rehabilitation needs
- RN-to-patient ratio is 1:20
- Common procedures include IV therapy, catheterizations, ostomy care, medication administration, and clinical assessments
- IV therapy and titratable drips are utilized on this unit
- EMR system is ECS (transitioning from Cerner to Epic)
- 12-hour night shifts on a block schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Floating is required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Prior experience working with elderly patients required
- IV therapy experience required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include charting, patient assessments, charge nurse duties, medication administration, and hands-on clinical skills (IVs, catheters, ostomy care)
- Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and RT (on-site 24/7)
- On-site pharmacy and physician availability after hours
- Scrub color must be any solid color, clean and professional
- Must be available for at least half of holidays during the assignment
- Orientation length varies based on individual skills
- Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date
- Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a reduced travel pay rate
- 2 professional references are required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience and 1 from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years of relevant experience
