Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week LTC/SNF night shift contract at a geriatric behavioral health facility in South Dakota, with a BSN and psych LTC experience preferred.

Details

• Long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 55 beds
• Geriatric patient population including dementia and behavioral health diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia
• Overnight patient ratio is approximately 1:45; daytime ratio is approximately 1:23
• Med aide support provided from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM; solo nurse coverage from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, on a block schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required when holidays fall within your scheduled contract block
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR: PointClickCare (PCC)

Requirements

• Active SD RN license or compact RN license, currently in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
• BSN required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required (copies of active certifications required; pending certifications not accepted)
• LTC/SNF experience required; psych LTC experience strongly preferred
• PointClickCare (PCC) EMR experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Orientation includes facility training, a tour, competency validation, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Most skilled and COVID-related charting is completed on the day shift
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a different pay rate
• Local candidates are accepted
