Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a busy Level II trauma center in Kyle, TX, requiring a minimum of 3 years of OR experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a Level II trauma center with 8 ORs
• Surgical specialties include orthopedics, trauma, general surgery, GYN, urology, and DaVinci robotics; vascular and CVOR experience is a strong plus
• Ancillary support includes PCTs, 3 supervisors, and team leads
• EMR: Cerner
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 06:45–15:00
• On-call rotation required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• No floating to other units required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license with TX privileges required
• BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
• ACLS or Advanced Life Support certification required (AHA or American Red Cross accepted; must be obtained within 6 months of start)
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• Diploma or degree from an accredited nursing school required
• Valid US Social Security Number and US home address required
• Two professional references required
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs circulating RN functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Directly assists the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning
• Responsible for preparing ORs and ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use
• Must be able to exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment while working with minimal supervision in a high-stress environment
• Standard precautions and appropriate PPE required at all times
• Sky blue scrubs required
• COVID vaccination is not required by this facility
