Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a 97-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7p–7a)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required to like units with similar patient populations
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license active prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• 13-week contract
• Required online modules must be completed prior to the start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any MUSC location as permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates will be considered
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
