Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) night shift position in San Antonio, TX, requiring a minimum of 2-3 years of ICU experience and an active TX RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital SICU unit (7S/653) in San Antonio, TX
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Rotating weekend requirement
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract
- Documents Meditech EMR (experience preferred)
- Procedures performed on unit include chest tubes, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
- Floating is required per the facility's floating policy
Requirements
- Active TX RN license required — temp licenses will not be accepted; compact license holders must obtain a TX license
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
- Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no exceptions
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- MICU or MSICU background is preferred
- Experience with IABP and CRRT is preferred
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred
- Scrub color requirement: navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
- Dress code includes neat hair (no extreme styles or colors), clean and healthy nails, covered tattoos whenever possible, and no visible piercings other than ears
- Badging in and out for each shift is required, along with a full 30-minute lunch break
- Punctuality is strictly enforced — clock-in time is 6:38 AM/PM; arriving after 6:45 AM/PM is considered tardy
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
