Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital, with potential floating across multiple campuses.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 304 staffed beds
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including potential float between Downtown, Northeast, Fairfield, and Kershaw campuses
- Charting via Epic EMR
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Active RRT credential required
- SC RRT license required; license must be in hand at time of start (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Epic EMR experience required
- Radiation badge required — must be provided by the candidate's agency prior to start
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on facility needs
- Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
- Caribbean Blue scrubs required
- Parking is available at no cost; parking pass distributed at badge pickup — note that garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
