Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy Laboratory position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Endo RN experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Endoscopy Laboratory unit with 9 beds
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 2 shifts per month are opening shifts running 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- On-call requirements include 3–4 weeknight shifts per month (Mon–Thu, 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM), 1 Friday evening per month (5:30 PM – 11:00 PM), and 1–2 weekend shifts per month (Sat 11:00 PM – Sun/Mon 7:00 AM)
- Intra-op patient ratio: 2-person team to 1 patient; pre/post-op ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients
- Typical procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and EBUS, as well as infection control, manual cleaning, and high-level disinfection of endoscopes
- Primary equipment: Olympus endoscopes and reprocessing systems
- EMR: Meditech
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas (KS) or a compact state license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent, acute care Endoscopy RN experience
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- At least one professional reference required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Preferred experience includes PACU background, familiarity with Olympus scopes and reprocessing, endo circulating and tech procedures, and ACLS certification
- Staff perform both basic and interventional/therapeutic procedures alongside highly specialized physicians on high-acuity patients
- Ideal candidate works well independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of an intraoperative team
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
