Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - PACU for a 13-week travel assignment in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license and a minimum of 2 years of critical care or PACU experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting
- Responsible for pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery patient care
- Variable shifts ranging between 8, 10, and 12 hours across Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays
- Shifts may vary between the ASU and PACU units
- On-call required 0–3 times per month, including 8-hour night and 24-hour weekend/holiday on-call shifts
- Equipment used includes Meditech (EMR), PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips Monitors
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by assignment start date
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience, or 2+ years of critical care RN experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting may be accepted as a substitute
- Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- PALS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start
Additional Information
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the assignment start date; travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Friday morning Employee Health appointment
- Flu vaccination may be administered at the Employee Health clearance appointment if not already obtained
- Critical care and surgical nursing background is strongly preferred
- Additional specialty certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) are preferred and may be required
