Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level III Trauma facility, requiring strong Neuro and Cardiac skills on 12-hour night shifts.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability on all 24 beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights (acuity-dependent)
• Uses Sunrise Allscripts EMR
• 12-hour night shifts
• Float required to all Med/Surg units and ICU (Med/Surg overflow patients only)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Strong Neuro and Cardiac skills required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Unit support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy available in-house 24/7
• No IV team on unit
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs in any color except all black; scrubs are not provided
• 8-hour orientation included
