Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level I Trauma experience for a night shift position at an acute care teaching hospital and children's hospital in New Mexico.
Details
- Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital and children's hospital in a short-term acute care setting
- RRT unit with an average daily census of 6–10 ventilated patients
- Skills utilized include airway management, vent management, ABG interpretation, medication administration, O2 therapies, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Charting in Cerner and Midas/Care Port
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30
- Up to 3 weekends may be scheduled per 4-week schedule period
- No on-call requirement
- No floating required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active New Mexico RRT license required (pending license accepted); license required if applicable
- Current certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS (RQI certifications not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Experience in ER, Adult ICU, adult floor therapies, airway management, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapies, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Free parking on-site
- RTO requests exceeding 7 days require approval; all time off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- A 6-month break is required for travelers who have completed 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility, whichever comes first
