Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring ACLS, NIHSS, and a VA or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 3 newly renovated labs
- High-volume, high-acuity unit handling 12–18 cases per day (4–7 cases per lab) including STEMI call
- Procedures include TAVRs, Watchman, CardiomEMS, carotid interventions, Impella, CTO, peripherals, TEVARs/EVARs, and STEMI
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Equipment includes Philips imaging systems (recently upgraded), Medrad and manifold for injections
- Charting systems: XPER and Epic
- Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (8:00–18:30), alternating Monday–Friday
- Rotating on-call required for weekends, holidays, after-hours, and when the department is closed
- Every other weekend requirement
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including medical assignments and ED (medical holds)
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of cardiac or critical care nursing experience required
- Experience in cardiac cath lab and/or interventional radiology (IR) preferred

- Responsibilities include circulating and monitoring during cath lab procedures
- Team-oriented, fast-paced environment with a collaborative and hardworking staff
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- RTO requests are accommodated at manager's discretion
- Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront
