Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit position requiring telemetry skills and a minimum of 1.5–2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stepdown, progressive care, and telemetry-level patients with varying acuity
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4, with flex to 1:5 in emergencies
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), weekdays with some weekends required
• Blocked schedules may be considered for weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required
• Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring required
• Ability to read cardiac strips required
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Some SDU patients may present at a progressive care or telemetry acuity level typical of larger facilities — candidates should be comfortable managing variable patient acuity
• Contract extension is possible
• Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Holiday RTO requests are limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
