Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Inpatient Rehab position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a 4W Inpatient Rehab unit within a 500-bed Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient population is primarily trauma rehabilitation, comprised of approximately 1/3 Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury, 1/3 Traumatic Brain Injury, and 1/3 Stroke patients
- Specialized patient populations also include burn patients, patients with two or more amputations, and ventilator-dependent patients (up to 2 vented patients at a time, with a goal of weaning when possible)
- Unit also includes 4 Medical Surgical beds serving acute care and flap patients
- Patient ratio is 1:3 on days and 1:5 on nights
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 0700–1930
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call required
- Epic EMR required (hard stop — experience is mandatory)
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 1–2 years preferred
- Level I Trauma and/or teaching hospital experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required per internal notes; facility system is a hard stop — candidates must be able to chart in Epic
- 2 professional references required within the last year: 1 manager and 1 charge RN or above
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius requirement
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum
- Prior UW Health System staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being considered for a traveler position
- Scrubs: any solid color accepted; light blue scrubs are provided on the unit
- Onsite parking is available for a daily fee; an offsite parking option approximately 1 mile away is also available with shuttle service (weekdays only, 5am–10pm, no nights, weekends, or holidays)
